I heard the passing standard has been raised for the NCLEX. Is that true?

The passing standard did not change for the NCLEX-RN Examination in 2019.The passing standard remains in effect through March 31, 2022 for the RN exam.

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) did vote to increase the passing standard for the NCLEX-PN Examination effective April, 2020 by 0.03 logits. This passing standard remains in effect for the PN exam until March 31, 2023  

What that means to you:  The 2019 RN NCLEX Test Plan remains the same in the percentages of client needs categories and the passing standard so that is good news! It is still a very hard test so you must study. Hurst students should not be worried, as they are fully prepared and provided everything they need to pass the first time!

For PN students, the percentages of the client needs categories did not change but the passing bar has increased.  For example, if you had a Pharmacology test in school that required a 78 to pass, with an increased passing standard, you might have to make an 80 to pass.  Still, Hurst students should not be worried, as they are fully prepared and provided everything they need to pass the first time!
